چکیده
Human leukocyte antigens (HLA) are gene products found in the major histocompatibility complex, aiding differentiation of “self” from “non-self” antigens, and is crucial for communication between immune cells human body. HLA-B27, specific, has a strong interrelation with different types Spondyloarthritis (SpA). The aim this study to frequency HLA-B27 suspected patients presenting axial peripheral joint involvement, who attended our tertiary care centre August-2017 January-2021. Patients fulfilling Assessment International Society (ASAS) criteria were included study, further classified into sub-groups. Blood samples collected CRP ESR tests along detection by RT-PCR method. Magnetic resonance imaging was done sacroiliac joints lower back pain. Analysis 289 SpA revealed 156 (54%) be positive 133 (46%) negative. There 98 (63%) Ankylosing spondylitis, 33 (21%) had Reactive arthritis, 19 (12%) Psoriatic 6 (4%) Undifferentiated Spondyloarthritis, inflammatory bowel disease diagnosed 0% patients. among (SpA) 54% (156), more common clinical manifestation men belonging age group 16-25 years spondylitis (AS) most sub-groups observed

ASSOCIATION OF HLA-B27 WITH ANKYLOSING SPONDYLITIS IN ISFAHAN, IRAN
Using a standard microcytotoxicity (NIH) technique of tissue typing, the HLA-B27 antigen was identified in 30 out of 34 patients (HH.2%) with classical ankylosing spondylitis (AS), compared to 6 out of 70 controls (H.6%) (P < 0.005). We also found this antigen in 8 out of 76 (10.5%) patients with non-AS arthritis.
متن کاملHLA-B27 Association with Uveitis in an Asian Indian Population
Background: Uveitis refers to diseases characterized by intraocular inflammation of the uveal tract. Anterior uveitis is a common ocular disease characterized by inflammation of the iris and the ciliary body. Objectives: To establish the frequency of HLA-B27- positive uveitis in Asian Indian population, study their clinical profile and compare it with other reports in literature. Methods: We re...
متن کاملPrevalence and Haemolytic Significance of Red Cell Antibodies among Dangerous Universal Donors in a Tertiary Care Hospital in South India
Background and Aims: A subgroup of group O individuals called ‘dangerous universal donors’ have immune (IgG) anti A and anti B antibodies which are active at 37˚C and capable of reacting with the red cells and causing lysis. The aim of this study was to find the prevalence of dangerous O group among the voluntary donor population and to assess the relation between the degree of haemolysis and t...
متن کاملHistopathological spectrum of gastrointestinal lesions - an experience in a tertiary care centre in South India
Gastrointestinal biopsies constitute a major group of specimens received in the surgical pathology department in a tertiary care hospital. This includes endoscopic biopsies from gastric and duodenal mucosa, appendicectomies, cholecystectomies and colonoscopic biopsies, colectomies etc. 1 This study aims at identifying the different histopathological lesions in these specimens. Endoscopy and col...
متن کاملAssociation of Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Gene Polymorphisms and Nephropathy in Diabetic Patients at a Tertiary Care Centre in South India
BACKGROUND Genetic polymorphisms of the angiotensin-renin pathway have been thought to influence the development of diabetic nephropathy. However, there are conflicting results regarding this association in previous studies on populations with varying ethnicity. AIMS Primary aim was to compare the frequency of distribution of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) gene (insertion/deletion [I/D])...
